DePuy Spine proudly collaborates with industry thought leaders to advance the treatment of spinal pathologies and enhance the educational experience of surgical spine fellows and residents.
The DePuy Spine FUTURE LEADERS in Spine Surgery program is a comprehensive training program offered to current spine fellows, qualifying residents* and spine surgeons who have been in practice 1-7 years. The program is designed to provide much-needed education for spine surgeons early in their career.
*Qualifying residents must be within 2 years of graduation to be eligible for these programs
The FUTURE LEADERS program begins with introductory courses and moves to exposure to technologies and procedures with esteemed faculty. Lively and engaging discussion, case presentation opportunities, and surgical observations abound. The Hands-on Practical Lab offers comprehensive training in anterior and posterior approaches to the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine. During the fellowship year, the fellow will have the opportunity to learn the latest surgical techniques in emerging technologies. Post-fellowship practice management is also addressed.

Pre-fellowship Bioskills Workshop:
The course offers fellows the chance to learn various spinal surgical techniques and anatomic approaches from directors of spine fellowship programs prior to the beginning of the fellowship year. This course seeks to enhance the knowledge and skills of the spine surgery fellow in the treatment of all regions of the spine.
Specifically, this course seeks to inform and instruct the fellows on current techniques in spine surgery; provide a conducive learning environment and access to their fellowship director, where applicable; and reinforce didactic sessions with cadaveric-based hands-on training.
Advanced Concepts in Spine Surgery Workshop:
At the beginning of the spine fellowship year, spine fellows supported in part by DePuy Spine, are invited to participate in the Advanced Concepts in Spine Surgery Workshop. The participant will have the opportunity to learn the latest surgical techniques in the areas of new technologies, such as MIS and Lumbar Arthroplasty.
Time will be dedicated to reviewing topics related to practice management and the job search.
These courses are offered to spine surgeons who will be starting fellowship training in the coming year at programs that are supported in part by DePuy Spine or at programs that are affiliated with our Fellowship Chairmen. By invitation only.
